How to handle fake news? The youths participating in this project try to find an answer to this question.
Launched in Autumn 2018, DIA’s project was called into being by one of today’s most frequently raised social problems, the spreading of fake news. We work together with secondary school students so they would become more conscious media consumers, more effective in checking the authenticity of sources and also they themselves become credible sources of information in their own community.
In the project, DIA’s trainers also hold workshops for high school students where they can learn about the workings of media and mass communications in interactive ways and try out how successful they are in detecting fake news. In these workshops young people have the opportunity to talk about dilemmas and exciting questions which interest them in their everyday life in an encouraging environment with the active involvement of decision-makers.
